Day 5 Perugia

While Laura attended university today, Bill and I walked the streets of the beautiful Perugia.  The gradient of the streets makes the Glenferrie Road hill seem as flat as a tack.  I did some shopping, enjoyed the glorious views from different parts of the town and watched the well dressed locals walk their dogs and do their shopping.  Tonight, we took Laura out to dinner.  Her teacher had suggested a typical Umbrian restaurant, which was not frequented by tourists but rather was a favourite haunt of the locals.  After dinner, we walked back to Laura’s tiny student digs.  Her apartment has a kitchen, a bed, a lounge chair a TV and a desk all in one L shaped room.  She also has a shower and toilet in a small room separated by a curtain.  After indulging in some Perugian chocolates there, Bill and I walked home past the old aquaduct which used to supply water to Perugia, but is now a walkway and staircase.  There was a total eclipse of the moon, tonight, so we saw the moon covered with what seemed to be red dust as we looked over Perugia from our bedroom window.  In the early hours of the morning I woke to see the full moon gleaming, once again as normal, through our window.  It was just magical.
