Day 6 Perugia to Rome

Today we travelled from Perugia to Rome by bus.  We found the bus to be extremely comfortable.  It was cheaper than the train and it avoided the necessity of having to change transport to get from Rome to the airport.  We decided to stay at the airport Hilton hotel as we had an early morning flight to Athens the next day.  When our bus dropped us at the airport we were just able to walk along the travelators to the hotel.  It was very easy.  The hotel had the most comfortable bed.  We would like to have been able to take it with us to the Greek islands.  We had a strange Italian waiter at dinner tonight.  Maybe he had just broken up with his girlfriend or maybe he had just ha several heavy nights out and was suffering the consequences.  Bill wanted a glass of red wine but the waiter insisted that this was not possible and he would have to buy a bottle.  Bill said he could not drink a whole bottle by himself.  Only a bottle said the waiter.  We ordered pasta for dinner and while we waited, Bill went up to the bar that was in the restaurant and managed to buy a glass of red wine for himself.  Then our waiter mixed up the bill for the couple sitting next to us.  Then he came back to us and asked us if we had ordered pizza, which we had not.  We repeated our order.  Suddenly, he became most apologetic.  He brought us a plate of antipasti on the house while we waited for our pasta to be cooked.  Next, he came with another glass of red wine for Bill; on the house of course.  Our waiter had turned most agreeable and could not do enough for us.  All is well that ends well.
